Basic Feature of Travelling & Daily Allowances 

A Govt. employee is entitled to get Travelling Allowance(TA) & Daily Allowance(DA) for official Journey to  from office Headquarter (H/q.) to temporary duty place and return to H/q. as per the Pay Range under Revision of Pay & Allowances 1998 Rules. 

Local Journey : Journey beyond 8 km and to within a radius of 20 km.

Rate of DA for Local Journey admissible for a maximum period of 60 days in a year.
Duration of Halt <= 6 hours (hrs.) = Nil
Duration of Halt >6 and <=12 hrs. = 35%
Duration of Halt>12 hrs. = 50%

DA rate for beyond 20 km. Journey :
Duration of Halt <= 6 hours (hrs.) = Nil
Duration of Halt >6 and <=12 hrs. = 70%
Duration of Halt>12 hrs. = 100%
